Lauren started her social work career in Renfrewshire twenty years ago in locality Children and Families services, working with children and young people in need of care and protection. She has an interest in gender-based violence (GBV) and has worked in specialist therapeutic roles with children affected by GBV. Lauren spent eight years in a multi-disciplinary infant mental health team, working intensively with Looked After under-fives and their birth and foster parents.  Latterly, Lauren has developed her passion for reparative care in her work with children and their families in a variety of intensive and therapeutic fostering services. Lauren brought her trauma-informed and relationship-focussed practice to CYCJ in May 2024 and hopes to help develop the Scottish Government’s Restorative Justice Action plan for children and young people
